Author Q & A

Since I have been sending out Newsletters more frequently I've been getting more and more replies, which I love! Some of those replies have included questions about myself and I've also received messages on my Author Facebook Page. I wanted to share some of those with you and would absolutely love it if you reached out and asked me questions that I can include in future newsletters! :)

Question 1: Is Eve's character in Unstoppable Hope based on you?

Answer: In a way. Eve, like myself, struggles with Epilepsy and is a single mother but the difference is that she is on the run from her abusive ex. I was not in an abusive relationship. The episodes that Eve has throughout the book and the side effects of her medication are real, that is 100% me.

Question 2: How did you come up with Unstoppable Hope?

Answer: Unstoppable Hope was never supposed to be published to be honest. I started the story as a way to sort of cope with my epilepsy since it was getting the better of me that year. I've had epilepsy for twenty-five years, and every now and then it kicks my butt pretty badly. I had no intentions of publishing it whatsoever but I was in the hospital for eight days getting testing done and my EMU, Dexter, thought that I should publish it to help others. My bestfriend read it and agreed so I published it. I was very self-conscious about hitting the publish button because I felt like you, my friends and my family would view me differently after reading it and seeing the internal struggles that epilepsy brings.

Question 3: How do you pick character names?

Answer: It's weird and sort of creepy. I don't wander aimlessly through graveyards but there has been a time or two when a headstone has helped me with a last name. Occasionally a name randomly pops into my head so I write it down for future stories if I'm not really feeling it for the piece I'm working on at the moment. Some names sound better for a supernatural character and other names fit cowboys or billionaires better so I put it on my list and wait until a character pops into my head.

Question 4: Will there be a story for Kenny or Earl?

Answer: I love that my side characters mean so much to people. I've been playing with a few ideas for both, I've even considered writing a story for Marty from Strawberry Wine, but I don't have anything solid that I want to run with. It definitely isn't out of the question, but as of right now it's a no. I have gotten A LOT of request for their stories, people have even commented in the reviews they have left on the books so I'm sure one day I will make it happen.

As I get more questions I will add them to this post :) Thank you for those of you that reach out!
